Zzzz...

During the university break, we attended a talk sponsored by the Religious Studies Department. It is about Mass Media and other related stuff. The speaker was from the Society of Saint Paul. He is the one you see celebrating the masses broadcasted live on TV. Although the speaker has good diction, I felt sleepy during the course of the talk. I am wide awake 30 minutes before the talk ended. I felt that I should have gone to the LASER meeting instead since the topic was already discussed in class.

Sin

This morning, we discussed about sin during our religion class. Our teacher asked, "What is a sin?". Most of their answers associate sins with the actions. Others define sin as a violation of the law whether it was the civil law or the ecclesiastical law. They also define it as an action that may cause harm to other people and that it is an act against morality. According to Jesus Christ, action is just the consequence of what kind the person is. Thus, a sin is something that is against our conscience. We feel a sense of guilt when we commit a sin. In addition to that, sin is the abuse of our freedom wherein we misuse it which leads to abusing others' freedom as well.

I have learned that the origin of sin is not really Adam and Eve. It's true origin is found in the core of the hearts of man. We are humans and since we are not created like robots, we are imperfect and commit mistakes.

The story of the BewITCHed

I just talked to a BewITCHEd person on the phone last night. Well... well... well... does not have any manners at all ey. After pleading for a favor that I could not give... she even have the guts to be like that. Imagine, she did not even utter a word and just stayed on the phone. So I said, "Hello.. hello" a dozen times. Then, I hung up. And yeah, I think it was really the right thing to do. So, don't she dare ask another favor from me without apologizing for what she did.

Freedom

Two or three weeks ago, we watched a short film, "God in the Dock". In this movie, God is put into trial for causing man to suffer. It has come to me that if people blame God for all the hardships that they encounter then it is synonymous to blaming God for we have freedom. But God loves us and trusts us so much that He gave us freedom. He gave us freedom to use and take care of the natural resources we have. He gave us the freedom to become the best person we are called to be. He does not want us to be like robots that are programmed to do this and to do that. In terms of the philosophical perspective, freedom is doing what we want to do. But of course, we should be responsible for our actions. Our freedom should not hinder others' freedom as well.

People I miss

I miss a lot of my friends. First and foremost, I miss my bestfriend Francis. We used to eat lunch together during our break time and do school stuff together. Things change suddenly. He’s famous alibi would be, “I’m going somewhere.”. I really miss his company a lot. Next in line would be my textmate Mark. Actually, a friend of mine gave my number to him and started texting me. He used to text me sweet messages and quotes. He would even call at the house and have chit-chat with me. Next would be Robbie, a very good friend of mine. We still keep in touch through SMS, and e-mails although we haven’t seen each other for a year or maybe two years. He would send a lot of cute and funny e-mails. I also miss my bestfriend Petta from Nursery until now. I talked to her through SMS just this last January. We used to write e-mails to each other. Now, communication with her is less.
Of course, I also miss my friends I have met through the message boards (you know who you are). I miss spending time with them during EBs although I may not call it an EB anymore since I have met them already.
